Sachin has a broad base of industrial experience, having worked across a number of markets including pulp and paper, food and beverage, chemicals, oil and gas and more recently power generation. He gets involved in all aspects of project management, from front end studies to detailed design.
After graduating in mechanical engineering in 1992, Sachin’s career began in India with Grasim Industries Limited, one of India’s largest private sector companies manufacturing Viscose Staple Fibre. On moving to New Zealand and Tauranga in 2003, he worked for a food manufacturing company before joining Beca AMEC in 2005.
Since then he has been involved in a range of capital projects for pulp and paper mills and chemical facilities in the Central North Island. Sachin was Project Manager for major modifications to Norske Skog Tasman’s Paper Warehouse in 2007 – a fast tracked project taking only nine months from approval to completion. More recently he managed a successful feasibility study for a new power generation facility for a key forest industry client.
Alongside project work, Sachin has also honed his marketing and commercial acumen as Client Relationship Manager for key forestry client Norske Skog Tasman (NST) – a role and relationship he really enjoys.
Sachin appreciates the work culture among colleagues at Beca AMEC. “We have a talented, qualified team with mutual trust, understanding and care as well as a passion for learning, development and support.”
