One of our key priorities is to provide a safe and healthy workplace for our people and to encourage an awareness of risk and self-responsibility. We have developed systems that not only meet our compliance obligations, but embed safe behaviour as part of our standard business practice. Beyond our own workplace, we recognise the responsibility we have to the wider community and our planet.
A suite of health and safety work instructions guide our employees in a variety of situations, covering a range of possible hazards they and their colleagues may encounter. We have an effective system in place to measure and monitor our health and safety performance as we strive for continuous improvement in this area. However, no system or monitoring procedure can substitute for safety ‘mindfulness’ as part of our culture.
We also develop project-specific safety plans for our clients, which include:
- overseeing and reviewing onsite health and safety activities
- reviewing site safety plans prior to project beginning
- participating in or reviewing onsite adherence to safety plans
- reviewing accident and incident reports to assess completeness and suitability of recommendations.
Training and employing skilled staff is an important factor in preventing harm to our employees and others.
